I think you should raise a GGUS ticket on this issue, explaining why
this is a bad idea. This will ensure it gets to the right parties.
In the meantime, if you use, use the "exclude" directive in your
yum.conf you can stop the gLite version from poisoning your nodes:
exclude
list of packages to exclude from updates or
installs. This
should be a space separated list. Filename globs
*,?,., etc are
allowed
