Dear Tier-2 workshop participants

At the F2F meeting today nearly everyone expressed an interest in a
group meal. Given the number and limitations I have booked for 20 (or
so) for 8pm at De L'Aviation restaurant. To reach the restaurant from
CERN take the number 9 bus until stop Blandonnet (close to the end of
the airport runway -
http://www.tpg.ch/Cartographie/Schemas_lignes/Mai2006/l9.html). From
there cross the footbridge towards Carrefour and on the other side turn
right then walk as parallel as you can with the main road back in the
direction of CERN for about 2 minutes (close to where another foot
bridge crosses the many lane carriageways). Our tables will be at the
back in the garden area. The bus passes it just before stopping so look
out for it. 

Pros: Garden setting (soon to disappear!), enough space to comfortably
take the group with reasonable waiting times and no pre-ordering. Not
too far from CERN. There is a big screen for football fans and beer for
the others. 

Cons: Limited menu (steak is what it is best known for now) - there is
also fish and some simple pasta dishes for vegetarians. 

Not everyone will be happy with this choice but it seems like a fair
compromise. Meal plus drinks is likely to be in the range 30-50 CHF per
person (but the better steaks are more!). As this visit is based on
daily subsistence the bill will need to be settled individually. For
those wanting cheaper or more options Manora is right by the bus stop
and buffet based. If you intend to eat somewhere else and join the group
later, or you prefer not to come please let me know so I can be clear on
numbers before we arrive. I suggest we leave CERN from restaurant 1 at
about 7:30pm.
