I look forward to another Global Perspectives type conference However you have chosen the dates that IHCS are hosting the US Transcultural Nursing Society conference Well we actually have 3 days 10 to 12th September. We have already agreed the dates with our US colleagues. I wonder if there are some things we could share if they are on at the same time But our conference will be very focussed on Nursing although clearly looking at transcultural perspectives. I shall be going to this year's conference in Annapolis to promote the UK conference. The Americans run their conference outside the US every 2 to 3 years and have been looking for a UK venue for some time Iain Graham and I attended the conference in new York last autumn and agreed then that we would host it in 2007.
Should we talk about it because of course I would like to be involved in both

Subject: Conference 2007
Greetings from sunny Bournemouth!
We are planning to hold another conference at Bournemouth in September 2007
10th-11th targeted at an international audience, covering themes of
citizenship, internationalisation and ESD and offering an opportunity to
share perspectives and development activitites. This is advance
notification to all you lovely people who made the last conference such a
success.
If you have suggestions for inspiring keynote speakers, ideas for the
conference, possible sponsors, please email me at [log in to unmask]
Details will be coming out in the Autumn. We are also hoping to publish
papers that arise from the conference however, we want to keep the balance
between being too 'traditional' and providing space for participation,
workshops and sharing of ideas. (Perhaps more drumming sessions but more
participants than last time!)
A relaxing summer to you all
Regards
Chris
PS HEFCE are currently embarking on a review of SD in the HE Sector. I am
pleased to be a member of their Steering Committee. It is early days yet
but it is great to note that HEFCE has not abandoned this agenda and that
their activity will call attention to the critical role of HEIs with regard
to sustainable development.
