I don't follow this. They're all from IRAF, and all in Starlink's CVS
repository.

No surprise there if you're trying MacIntel. We no longer have the
resources to keep abreast of the IRAF developments.

If this is working, wouldn't it be best to update and commit
configure.ac, adding the approopriate suffix to STAR_PLATFORM_SOURCES?

Having suitable IRAF libraries for IRAF2NDF and NDF2IRAF tasks has been
a nuisance for years. What fraction of IRAF users still work with the
OIF rather than FITS?
