Thanks, dear Magick Mouse,
I appreciate that! 'Twas a rushy-rush, and once it had settled, I found
meanings quite unrealized when I'd sent it off.
Last couple lines had been to intensify a plea to prolong love, beauty,
life.
I'm always grateful and delighted that we have POETRYETC as a place to put
Ruff Poems out for helpful comments.

Really liked this.
(Not sure about the last two lines, though.)

Forest Play
This living night
tunes its wooded instruments
staccato solos deep
in stands of long-leaf pine
Watch
from the moss firefly light rises
marionettes cut loose
in unstringed dance
Pull me up with you
pull me up in your sparky ease
through the curls of paper birch
I will call your names
in our flying tease
a quick dance
before we disappear
Oh slow this dark rehearsal
damp the players' touch
at times
just tonight
