The same William Henderson also appears to have been involved with
copper precipitation at Clive Copper Mine in Shropshire (the copper also
being found in sandstone). The leaching tanks from Clive were moved some
years ago to Bryntail Mine in Wales (just below the dam) where they are
now preserved.
If you visit Avoca Copper Mine in Ireland you can see the process in
'action' with various iron items, like rails, nuts and bolts coated with
a nice clean copper surface.
