Hello,
Plone is a useful product even in larger scale projects. If you have
to handle a larger quantity of user you should change to LDAP user
authentification (or similar products) which can be intergrated in
Plone. High traffic websites with many logged in users should
consider distributed server setup. Please compare also http://
plone.org/about/server/
