I'll be in the air again, I'm afraid. And I know that Greig's at the
T1 workshop.
Probably we need a site volunteer to summarise for item 2.
I had a chat with JP and what will come in DPM in the next 6 months is:
Quotas
Per VO usage accounting (a bit of a hack to start with, but we have a
plan to unhack it later...)
SRM v2.2 (NB everyone expects this will be late), which will include
space reservation
He's also interested in xrootd integration and tape backend hooks,
but these are probably lower priority.
Some other things on the horizon
Fix for lcg-rep to use all replicas
Fix for lcg-gt to be able to specify "create" and get a TURL to put a
file
We discussed DPM scalability as well. I said that supporting if 40
opens per second was possible on old hardware, then with shiny new
headnodes at least a 100 should be possible and this should be ok for
T2s. Some sites, who don't use FTS, have experienced problems with
too many incoming connections to disk servers. This will probably
start to be an issue in the future, so expect some site defined limit
on number of gridftps and rfios onto each disk server. I think this
will be important for analysis.
cheers
