Reader/Senior Lecturer in Human Geography, School of Geography, Politics
and Sociology
Applications are invited for a Readership/Senior Lectureship in Human
Geography, based in the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology. The
individual appointed will be an internationally recognised scholar of
distinction working in any area of Human Geography that complements our
existing research strengths. You will strengthen core areas of
high-quality research and publishing activity, and add significantly to
our international profile. You will also contribute to the School's
programmes of undergraduate/ postgraduate study.
We encourage applications from outstanding specialists in any branch of
Human Geography. The new Reader/Senior Lecturer will also be well-placed
to develop research and teaching links across the School and the wider
University. To that end, it is anticipated that you may play an
important role in one of the University's multi-disciplinary Research
Institutes (for example, the Newcastle Institute for the Arts, Social
Sciences and Humanities (NIASSH) or the Institute for Policy and
Practice (IPP)), including the possibility of developing your own
research centre within either of these institutes.
