Civic, Cultural and Social Participation: Building an Inclusive Society
The National Disability Authority is hosting its 5th Annual Disability
Research Conference. This year’s conference will focus on the theme of
Civic, Cultural and Social Participation.
This conference wishes to highlight and air current research, thinking and
developments on the civic, cultural and social participation of people
with disabilities. We wish to invite researchers to contribute current and
recent research findings to present at the conference in one of the
following three parallel sessions:
· Participation: Arts and Culture
· Participation: Social and Civic Engagement
· Participation: Education and Employment
Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts are now invited for papers that address the conference theme.
Papers may be submitted for consideration as reports on either recent
research or research-in-progress. Abstracts must be no longer than 300
words in length and should provide information on the following aspects of
the research:
· Title
· Research focus
· Description and scope of research
· Methodologies used
· Outline of empirical data and size of sample
· Key findings, conclusions and recommendations
· Name and full contact details (including e-mail) of principal
researcher
If time does not permit inclusion of all proposed papers that satisfy the
selection criteria, researchers may be invited to present a poster
presentation. Descriptions of individual projects may also be accepted for
poster presentations.
Submission of Selected Papers
Following assessment of abstracts, authors selected to present their
research at the conference will be required to submit an electronic copy
of their paper, in the required NDA style/format, by 31st August 2006.
This is to allow us compile a volume of conference papers and to have them
mounted on our website, in a fully accessible way, from the date of the
conference
