On leaving one 'industrial ruin' this afternoon and turning on the radio, I caught this interview with Tim Edensor from Manchester Met University on Radio 4's 'Thinking Allowed', focusing on his article in last November's Journal of Material Culture (Waste Matter - The Debris of Industrial Ruins and the Disordering of the Material World). Anyone interested can hear the interview on Radio 4's listen again facility http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/thinkingallowed/ for the next week. They might also feel inspired to send a poem about their favourite ruin in to Laurie Taylor's competition.
Incidentally, if someone with free access to the Journal of Material Culture's online journal could send me a copy of the paper, I would be really grateful.
Thanks,
Emma
