Call for Papers: Literature in Context
Azerbaijan Comparative Literature Association and Baku Slavic
University welcome
proposals, panels and roundtables for interdisciplinary conference to
be held at the Baku
Slavic University on November 24-th to 25-th, 2006.
Scope of the presentations includes the full range of the following issues :
Literature in Context of:
History
Language
Philosophy
Religion
Sociology
Culture
Commonness and Differences,
Borders and Parallels between:
Theory of Literature
Comparative Literature
Cultural Anthropology
The topics of this interdisciplinary conference will be focused but not
limited on the
following research problems:
-Borders Between Humanities
-Limits in Comparativism
-Past and Future of Humanities
-New Tendencies and New Approaches in Comparative Literature
-Theory of Methodology and Research in Comparative Literature
-Film and Literature
-Gender and Queer Theory
The scope of proposals may extend to any issues and approaches of the
above-mentioned
themes.
Working languages of the conference are Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
We intend to publish the proceedings of the conference.
Financial support for participants: The conference committee will be
able to pay the
costs for selected participants, especially those from the post-Soviet
region.
Applicants should submit abstract of 350 words along with a short
curriculum vitae by no
later than October 5th of 2006,
