Welcome !...
We invite you to submit papers for presentation at the Sixth European

Poland, from October 6th through 8th. The Conference will be hosted by:
Opole University, Department of Psychology
The European Community Psychology Association (ECPA)
Opole Regional Section of the Polish Psychological Association
While our Program Committee especially welcomes proposals related to the
conference theme of social change, we will accept proposals on any topic
in community psychology from Europe or elsewhere in the world. There are
plans to publish the conference presentations in the form of a book.
Examples of the conference topics
Actions to accomplish social change in local community settings.
Empowerment and quality of life.
Mental health consequences of poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and
economic insecurity.
Understanding and resolving conflicts in the community.
Street crime and fear of crime.
Helping disabled people in their communities.
Preventing mental health, substance abuse, and other social problems in
the community.
Coping with child abuse.
Cross-cultural comparisons of social and psychological issues.
Police as "natural caregivers" for persons in distress in the community.
Synergistic and antagonistic community relations in newly democratic
countries of Eastern and Central Europe.
Should we have a European Union Community, not for the governments but for
the people? If yes, should or should not community psychologists help in
creating it?
Encouraging political participation in traditionally uninvolved groups.
