Hi Caroline
Yes that's true - happens that one of the main groups studied by TL is
headed up by a quite wellknown Thelemite and editor of a Thelemic fanzine
that was published for many years. They are famous for their advocacy of the
Gnostic Mass - which they perform several times every year and have done for
a while now - Same people are also important Gardnerian initiates. Can't
remember what TL makes of the Gnostic Mass - but that whole thing shows the
strong links between Left Field magical groups and the heart of Gardnerian
wicca. I guess the Gnostic mass is also (in part) the model for Great
Rite/Third Degree??
Can you remember what TL says about all that? Its a while since i had a copy
around. Guess I thought this was a bit of the exception that proves the
rule - as it seems odd that she rejected any discussion with the kind of new
magical groups that were in fact feeding ideas, submitting essays and
articles etc, into the circle she was studying??

Hi Mogg, but doesn't she deal with a group that performs a Gnostic Mass,
aren't they magicians? (Need to re-check the book myself of coruse for the
answer to that).
