Thanks so far.
We too have rearranged our course to 4/12........and have done a
similar thing withe SHOs too
This is a link to the MMC document Operational Framework
http://www.mmc.nhs.uk/download_files/Operational-Framework.pdf
a 'right riveting read' it is too.
However the appendices do list the requriements for taster weeks/ study
leave etc so I am afraid it does exist! (appdx 7)
cant find the 30 day thing but sure I have seen it somewhere

Peter,
We certainly release our two for their 10 days a year and they get
their 3 hours protected teaching with all the SHOs as usual, not
anything extra to that. Not heard anything about an extra 30 days a
year study leave nor have I been asked by F2s to be released for such
things, which given the knowledge of 'Junior's Rights' by most SHOs
would tend to make me think this 'extra' study leave doesn't exist. I
thought they had the same as everyone else (two weeks?) and the 10 days
a year were taken out of this at the beginning.

Subject: F2 Educational requirements
Apologies to the non-Uk members and those of you not getting F2 docs
...
How much educational time are your F2 docs getting per week?
Ours get about 10 Professional development days a year and we have
been
told they must have 3hrs protected teaching a week.
In addition they are apparently entitled to study leave, of 30 days
per
year for things like 'Taster weeks' (nothing to do with wine I'm
told).......although i think this is not being advertised!
This is in addition to the work based assessment time they all get
...................on a 40 hour/week contract.
This for us is complictaed by having six monthly SHOs and four monthly
F2's, so combined SHO type teaching courses do not overlap smoothly!
yours curiously
Peter
