Hi Anna,
We are in the process of finalising a development which I believe
closely matches your requirements.
The target database is Fedora and the research management system is
Research Master.
We have developed a work flow which has the Research Master user gather
up the research objects/publication files as part of the recording
process. Meta data and objects are next converted into a METS package
and transferred to the target repository via SCP. Upon arrival at the
repository we can either directly ingest or pass through a mediation
process to check for conformity and copyright etc.
Once deposited, a METS package containing a handle to the new deposit in
the repository plus the Research Master unique ID and other metadata to
ensure accurate matching is returned via SCP to Research Master. Handle
information is extracted and added to the Research Master record, thus
completing the round trip and allowing users of Research Master to view
their research object in the repository.
Please contact me if you need more information, I hope this information
will assist you.
Neil
