As far as I know the audit and assessment framework will be issued under the
auspices of the National Audit Office together with the National Archives,
who are finalising the framework as we speak - there are as yet no
electronic resources on this but I'm sure they will be available soon.
Central government will be physically audit by, I assume, the Audit
Commission or the NAO whilst the rest of us will be completing a self
assessment exercise which will be submitted to either the Audit Commission
or the Information Commissioner.
More detailed information will be issued in the future but since I had
missed this information I thought list members would appreciate some
advanced warning
Paula

Apologies for cross posting.
Members may be interested to know that at the end of 2006/beginning of 2007
the public sector will be assessed for compliance with the S46 Code of
Practice on Records Management issued under the Freedom of Information Act.
Central government will be physically audited whilst other public sector
bodies will be required to complete a self assessment.
Happy Days!
Paula
