Please don't knock the local authorities! The key issues surround what
message the DfES is putting out to schools in the DfES roadshows on learning
platforms coupled with the knowledge that we have to work to the framework
and timescale laid down by the DfES. I think it reasonable to suggest that
the local authority in question is simply trying to comply with the
requirements and the funding.
But isn't Moodle a great product for addressing that all important culture
shift required in any establishment be it a school or a college?

Subject: Re: [VLES] LEA Advises against Moodle!!??
I think there is an effort to incorporate RELOAD (IMS)
in Moodle the next year or so. It is true about the
support, however, all decisions depend on individual
and organisational needs, ability to deal with
specific problems (eg support) and visions (eg
development). there is no straight answer to the
question 'what VLE should I use?'.
