Hi all,
I've had quite a good look at the Standards Unit Quiz and can give some
insight into how it could work, or be put into another quiz system.
Inside the program folder there is the Quiz_Learner_Edition.exe file
(which is basically an empty shell that loads the quiz.swf file).
The quiz.swf file is the flash multiple choice quiz that contains all of
the coding that gives feedback and works out the student scores. This
file can also be accessed by embedding it in an html page though
Dreamweaver or Frontpage.
The quiz.swf file looks in the data folder and loads the structure.xml
file that is all of the introductory text content and the topics.xml
file which makes the topic menu on the front page.
When a student clicks on a topic it looks further into the data folder
and loads one of the .txt files, which also tells the quiz.swf what
images to load (if any).
There are several possibilities to getting this to work properly in
Moodle
1) The Standards Unit asks the original suppliers to modify the
original quiz.swf file (If I had the source code it would probably be
about half a day's work as all the tracking is there, it just sends it
out to the wrong place for SCORM)
2) You use the text files and use them to make Moodle or Hot Potato
quizzes.
Here at Oaklands I have developed a range of xml based multiple choice
quizzes using Flash that can be made SCORM compliant (for simple
tracking it's simply a case of adding about ten lines of code, making
sure that the html page has SCORM code on it and using reload to package
it as IMS 1.2.2), that could be used for most of the questions. I would
need to modify it a little for the safety signs image based activities.
Some current (non-SCORM compliant) multiple choice templates are on our
website

I hope that this is useful to you.
