Hi John,
So does this make information of the sort displayed at:
http://cmssrv02.fnal.gov/condor/
(especially note history of individual users) illegal?
Please note it was one of our CMS users coming to me today saying how
useful this was to them in diagnosing problems and asking me if we could
do something similar for the whole LCG from our monitoring information
(which of course we could) that prompted me to put these mails out to
Rollout and TB-support. In the past we have been approached by a number of
people asking for this information including the people working on the CMS
dashboard, Atlas people doing something similar etc. We have always
declined as we where concerned about the privacy issues that have come up
in this discussion. However, if so many people are publishing this
information already (regardless of user preference) and it is useful
...which it certainly is, then we would like to publish it.
Now I certainly take David Groep's point about people have a choice. So
for that reason I suggested the 4th option where we do it for some VOs and
not others depending on what the VO's policy. With VOMS a user can choose
which VO a job runs as, thus giving them the choice.
As yet I haven't seen any objections to this approach. Can anybody think
of any?
All the best,
david
