As you will know the RAPID International Conference will be held in 
Birmingham on 24-27 October this year.  Conference registration for 
those involved in RAPID projects can be done on the RAPID website at 
http://www.noc.soton.ac.uk/rapid/rapid2006/ic06register.php

Each RAPID project is entitled to two free places (registration fee 
and accommodation) + free attendance for all RAPID students.  PI's 
will already be aware of this from a mailing by Helen Beadman at NERC 
earlier this month.

TO ENSURE A FREE PLACE, REGISTRATION SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY MAY 22.

If you have not yet registered, and would like a free place, please 
discuss this with your PI, and register as GUEST on the registration 
site, quoting your grant reference.


MODELLING WORKSHOP - MAY  23, BY INVITATION ONLY

  THC-MIP are holding a project meeting / modelling workshop before 
the main conference.  This is intended for those directly involved in 
the THC-MIP project, and by invitation for other conference 
participants involved in modelling as part of other RAPID projects.

If you think this meeting would be of interest to you, please contact 
Remi Tailleux  ( [log in to unmask] ) before registering 
for the conference, as those attending BOTH the workhop AND 
conference will be able to book accommodation for Monday night 
through the conference registration system.


PAGES/CLIVAR 8.2 KYR WORKSHOP - MAY 23, BY INVITATION ONLY

PAGES/CLIVAR are holding an 8.2 kyr workshop the day before the 
conference - again by invitation.    If you are registering for a 
free conference place, and expect to attend the 8.2 kyr workshop, you 
may book accommodation for Monday night through the conference 
registration system.
