>One assumes Greer _must_ have read de Pisan, but I can't remember reading
any comments about her - do you have any? De Pisan's technique is much more
rousing, I think...
My knowledge of Greer's books is fading as I read her as a teenager, and i
don't recall any serious engagement with Pisan, but I do remember (from the
last Greer I've read) that Pisan is mentioned & quoted in The Obstacle Race:
on women artists, as an art critic - the Book of the city of Ladies contains
essays on women illustrators. Also, in discussing the possibility of early
16th century Bologna being a feminist city, Pisan gets quoted.
