Tenderly #59
1.
Like who? Who like blue: blue not
Sink: sink in blue: sky sink, blue
And scarf: blue eye: turquoise blue
Darkened: white glint: porcelain white neck
White torso: darkened pelvis: white hips
Thigh shadowed: white buttock: blue shawl
Over pubes: blue on white on dark, darkened:
Not who not blue not eye: white
Shadow hip: white stomach, a glint
Shoulder up, the white shoulder, darkened:
White cloud atop white cloud: white dissolve
Whorled, unfolded, lifted: fullness
White fullness, impeccable, startled.
2.
One year a father dies. One year it is passed.
No one lit a candle. Or planted a tree. No one.
In the night a cloth unraveled. Welcome back
The body once, the body twice. We hunger
On your soul, said one. We hunger not
Said another. A white cloth unraveled. A gold cloth
Over an old couch carried by two. What shimmers
In the light, light spun? A soul shimmers. Full thread
Thread nor threadbare. Shimmers.
