Can I please draw your attention to the courses
we are running from September 2006? We would
appreciate it if this could be sent out to the
members of your mailing list at the next convenient time.
The Department of Primary Care and Population
Sciences is running a new Certificate course from
September 2006, designed for people who want to
do research in primary care. There are 8 modules,
of which you must do 6 to get the Certificate
qualification. Each module comprises a
paper-based distance learning pack (4 days total
study time), one day on-site workshop, and an
online discussion forum. Assessment is by essays
(no exam). The modules maybe taken individually
as freestanding courses (£250.00 each) or as part of the Certificate .
The modules are:
> Getting Started in Primary Care Research
> How to Write a Grant Application
> Research Governance (includes completing your LREC form) Qualitative
> Research (basics) Qualitative Research (advanced)
> Questionnaire Research
> Randomised Controlled Trials
> Writing up and Presenting Research
Places in the first year will be strictly limited
so please apply early to be sure of a place.
All the details (and how to apply etc) are on our
web site http://www.ucl.ac.uk/openlearning/shortcourses.htm
Many thanks and best wishes
