£17,793 per annum
Based in Swindon
You will be one of a team of six officers responsible for responding to public enquiries relating to the National Monuments Record's architectural collections, dealing with remote enquires and visitors in a professional, enthusiastic and courteous manner.
You will have knowledge of the principal uses of architectural information in a range of environments and familiarity with the types of primary and secondary material relating to the architecture of England. Experience of using a variety of computerised databases is required and an understanding of manual and computerised map-based information systems, including GIS applications, would be an advantage. You will ideally have customer service experience in a library, archive or record office environment.
Excellent team working, communication and time management skills will be combined with enthusiasm, energy and commitment in dealing with the public. You will have a good honours degree in architectural history, or a related subject, up-to-date architectural knowledge and/or a professional qualification in a relevant information/archive/curatorial field or equivalent experience.
