[EMS-NEWS]
Dear Friends of the 8-channel Studio
you'll be pleased - nay overjoyed - to learn that I have concocted a
temporary solution to the problems in the 8-channel studio.
Whilst the second BMC unit is indeed broken, and awaiting
replacement, I have wired in a second small mixer to take care of the
missing channels (#5, 6 + 8).
So, please ensure that you DON'T readjust the fader settings on the
second mixer (which is on top of the equipment rack, to the left). I
have roughly calibrated it to match the "-10dB" setting on the Blue
Sky controller (the blue box), which you must also not reset. If you
do, be aware the overall balance between the speakers will suffer.
Finally, the original 1.25GHz Dual Mac computer is now back in there
and running smoothly in OS9, including an OSX bootable partition with
MaxMSP.
Okay - I'm off to lie down in a darkened room...
