-- Sound Artist: Redoubt Re:Play Heritage Project, Eastbourne

Ratton School is looking to recruit an experienced sound artist to deliver
a range of innovative workshops and develop a performance / installation
based around the  Redoubt Fortress on Eastbourne's seafront.

The successful candidate will work alongside the current directors of
Evolution  Theatre Company, a youth theatre group for 14-18 year olds.

Working in partnership with The Cavendish School, Willingdon Community
College,  The Redoubt Fortress, Compass Community Arts, the Youth
Development Service and  Evolution Theatre Company this project will
explore the heritage of the Redoubt  Fortress on Eastbourne's seafront in
an innovative and creative way.  It will  engage a diverse range of young
people who have not previously accessed the  heritage site and create a
lasting educational programme for the site where one  currently does not
exist.  This project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the
Community Arts programme at Cavendish, Ratton and Willingdon Schools.

We are looking for innovative and creative self-starters who have the
following  attributes:

- A high level of skill in sound design and in delivering workshops for
young    people.
- Evidence of being able to apply skills and knowledge - this could mean a
degree    or qualification, but could equally be a good portfolio of
practice gained    through hands on experience.
- Innovation, ambition, resourcefulness, inspiration, tenacity.
- The ability to work as a team player and facilitator.
- The ability to work on their own initiative.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work accurately and to deadlines.
- Experience of working with a wide range of young people from diverse
backgrounds. - A commitment to equal opportunities and social inclusion.
- A flexible approach to working hours.

Applicants will need to undergo a CRB check.

The contract will commence on 1 June.  Sessions will take place every
Monday in Eastbourne from 5pm - 7pm.

Fee is #87.50 per 2hr rehearsal including travel and planning time or #175
a day based on 5 full days and 8 half days.  This includes editing time.
