PURPOSE: This is an opportunity to meet colleagues and share ideas in an informal, ‘semi-
structured’ day. Following a morning presentation describing the findings of the RAISE Project on
Good Practice for Supporting Dyslexic Students in HE, delegates will have the chance to participate
in two facilitated discussion groups.

2) AchieveAbility: Widening Participation? The SpLD Voice - 22 June 2006, London
The AchieveAbility Aimhigher National project is holding a conference to allow the voice of those
with Specific Learning Differences (10-20% of UK population) to be heard in relation to the
national widening participation agenda (target 50% of 18-30 yr olds in HE by 2010).
The potential loss of intellectual talent to education and employment is the central issue which will
be explored in presentations, seminar sessions and by the keynote speakers Bill Rammell MP,
minister for further and higher education, and Shirley Cramer, Chief Executive of Dyslexia Action
(formerly the Dyslexia Institute).
The conference will be an opportunity for delegates to learn about the project's activities,
celebrate the achievements, explore the issues raised and receive unique findings from research

3) NADO Annual Conference & AGM 2006
