www.segala.com
Segala provide certification services for companies such as O2. O2 mandate
all web based suppliers worldwide to seek certification from Segala. Soon to
launch an affiliate scheme with the leading usability companies in the UK,
who will award the trustmark themselves.
We are demonstrating a browser extension that reads labelled sites. It
allows users to filter search results - including sponsored links. If anyone
is at www2006.org please come see me and I'll show you. I'm looking to
include this groups output as a means of enabling users to filter search
results based on profiles for accessibility - the browser is capable of
doing this *now*.
The Firefox extension is digitally signed by Netscape and built by our
partner (Glaxstar) - who maintain www.spreadfirefox.com and have built
extensions for companies such as PayPal and Yahoo!
I'm also looking to include stuff like FOAF soon ;)
Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to learn more as we're not
providing open access to it just yet.
Kind regards,
Paul

Lisa
you might recall the concern about the same process being
developed at EU level. I am sure there will be
contributions form people on this issue as it is
certification programs are going to affect many people ...
I point out, yet again, that our AccessForAll approach
avoids this activity in favor of asking people to
describe their resources well - without being judgmental
about if they are accessible or not because we cannot be
sure of how they will be used or by whom.
