Hi Lisa
Sounds like you are already in possession of some useful info to help
you make your case. You might already be familiar with the different
towns/villages that your team aims to provide support for. If, while you
are settling in, you want to gather more information (to make your case)
you could always visit http://www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/. Just
put in a postcode and get a whole range of useful information on the
local population (eg age distribution of population, relative
deprivation, household composition, facilities in the area, etc).
The site also allows you to move around via maps of areas of varying
sizes.
Cheers
Carl

Carl
I have just started working as a clinical psychologist in a
multi-disciplinary adolescent mental health team in Devon
(literally in my second week) and am finding your emails
really useful. I was already hoping/planning to refer to
Every Child Matters as support for developing an agreement
with my manager to allow me to spend at least some of my
time away from individualised 'therapy' provided at our team
base (many miles away from some of the towns/villages that
we are supposed to provide support for).
It's inspiring to know that change does occur (however
slowly). Although i was already thinking about using
NHS/government documents to support me in doing community
psychology, it is always good to be reminded and to hear
success stories.
Hopefully I may have more to add to such discussions in a
few weeks/months once i am more settled in.
Cheers
Lisa
