Special Issue on Eye-tracking Applications in Multimedia Systems
Recent improvements in accuracy and availability of eye tracking methods have facilitated the diverse and interactive use of eye tracking in multimedia systems. Whilst traditionally eye tracking has been used for obtaining information about human perceptive and cognitive processes, its integration into multimedia systems remains a challenging endeavour that offers considerable potential to optimize and incorporate the user experience in the multimedia systems of the future.
This special issue solicits innovative papers on the integration of eye-tracking research in multimedia systems and applications. We are looking for both theoretical and applied eye tracking submissions, in which topics include, but are not limited to:
The use of eye-tracking as an Input / Output device
Fixation based Video Compression and Adaptation Techniques
Cybernetic and Biocybernetics eye-tracking systems
Use of Multimedia to Store, Analyse or Visualise Eye-Tracking data
The use of eye-tracking in 3D virtual environments and game-play
Multi-sensory systems incorporating eye-tracking
Usability and accessibility issues
In preparing manuscripts, authors should follow the ACM TOMCCAP 'Authors Guide', which can be found in abridged form at the back of each issue and is available at the following web site: http://www.acm.org/pubs/tomccap/
