I am very new to records management and am currently doing a course in
order to learn.
Part of the course work is to read up on the above models and to form an
opinion as to the relevance to real life records management. I have
posted a similiar question on the American List.
The Australians seem to have taken the continuum model totally on board;
the replies so far from the American list have taken a more pragmatic
approach - horses for courses, so to speak. One commented that the
continuum model was fine for academics and theorists....
What is the feeling in the UK? Is there any great debate as to which to
go with? Or is it mix and match?
The contiuum model seems to bring records managers and archivists together
whereas the LifeCycle model compartmentalises? Am I right?
