Please forward this to any PhD student who may be interested in attending:
Screen Studies Training for Postgraduate Research Students
A one-day event for PhD students at the University of London who are
interested in the study and analysis of film, television, video, computer
and related screen media studies.
Following the success of the three-day training event held at Birkbeck in
October, we are delighted to announce a follow-up one-day event:
Birkbeck College, 43 Gordon Square, WC1
Saturday 10th June
10am – 6pm
The day will include sessions on using textual analysis in the study of
film, television and new media, and using interviews as a research
methodology. There will also be talks from recently completed PhDs
reflecting critically on a range of methodological issues, from using
archives, to studying audiences, and plenty of opportunities to meet other
PhD students working in your area.
The event is free to all University of London PhD students. While the
event is aimed at first year PhDs, students more advanced in their
research may be able to attend.
For more information and a registration form please contact the event co-
ordinator Ruth O’Donnell at [log in to unmask]
