Listening Books provides a postal and internet-based audio books
library service to approx. 4,000 people across the UK who have a print
impairment.
Sound Engineer, 'Sound Learning', London, Full time, c19k
Listening Books is looking for a full-time Sound Engineer to join its
in-house recording team. The post holder will record and produce
imaginatively rendered audio books as part of the charity's Sound
Learning Project. The project provides curriculum based audio materials
in a variety of formats for children and young people who are unable to
read in the usual manner. The successful candidate will report to the
Studios Co-ordinator and will have experience of recording the spoken
word in a digital studio setup, relevant sound design credentials,
experience of working and dealing with voice actors, knowledge of
encoding audio for the web and a passion for audio books and their
potential to educate and entertain. Experience of Pro-Tools LE and PC
audio editing software is essential
Salary c19k. The charity also offers a matched contribution pension
scheme.
