RMS Group Members:
Here at the General Medical Council (GMC) we are improving our information
management capabilities which includes systematically replacing out existing
IT systems. We have been through the selection and procurement process which
resulted in the selection of Siebel CRM and Open Text's Live link. We have
worked closely with both Siebel and Open text to enable integration between
the 2 products, which has resulted in Open text productising the connector.
This integrated solution is now deployed to around 250 users.
As part of our improvement programme we are also reviewing our information
security and legal admissibility requirements and responsibilities. We are
using BIP0008 and BS7799 as our benchmark for this. We have done a
significant amount of work in assessing and implementing new procedures to
enable us to comply with BIP0008.
Here comes the question.
* We are keen to understand what issues and challenges other
organisations have had when using scanned or electronic documents in court,
civil or criminal, or during any other regulatory activities?
* Has anybody had any challenges against authenticity of said
documents, if so what did you do to demonstrate the documents or records
could be trusted?
I am more than happy to share any responses with group members. I am also
happy to share our experiences of implementing CRM, EDRM, BIP0008 and BS7799
all at the same time.
Kind regards
Paul Maxwell
