An Oral History of Plastic
Which gabble most, books or dolls? Both, to the outward, are hushed.
But (and here a line commends itself from prose) on their high ranked
Shelves of ascent books command, promulgate, wrangle and enquire,
Describe, pontificate, fulminate, dream (And the rest, boss, yet set rah).
Dolls, dream the embalmers, stay dumb. Until the lights gently go out.
Or when worn examiners, sagging with papers, exit the latching door.
