*	Visit to the Welsh Settlement in Patagonia
*	2005 was the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the Welsh
settlement in Patagonia. In
*	September I was fortunate enough to travel to Patagonia with
Lesley-Ann and Gwydion from CyMAL. Culturenet Cymru and CyMAL are working
together on the Glaniad Project, which will be launched in March 2006.

*	CADWRAETH
*
*	Sut mae'n gweithio? Yr Arolwg Asesu Cadwraeth
*	Mae model yr arolwg yn gweithio fel a ganlyn:
*	Mae defnyddwyr yn nodi sampl o 400 o eitemau wedi'u dewis ar hap
neu'n systematig o lyfrgell neu archif, neu o un neu fwy o'i gasgliadau. 400
yw maint y sampl bob tro (neu mor agos â phosibl at hynny), beth bynnag y bo
maint y casgliad.
*	Mae holiadur byr yn cael ei lenwi ar gyfer pob eitem yn y sampl.
Ffurflen 'blwch ticio' yw rhan gyntaf yr holiadur, ac ynddi, eir ati i holi
cwestiynau sy'n ymwneud â chadwraeth yr eitem - sut mae cael gafael arni,
faint mae'n cael ei defnyddio, lle mae'n cael ei chadw, ei chyflwr a'i
defnyddioldeb, pa mor werthfawr a phwysig ydyw. Mae rhan dau yn gofyn am
asesiad o gyflwr yr eitem a'r mathau o ddifrod sydd i'w gweld arni.
*	??????Caiff yr wybodaeth o'r ffurflenni ei chofnodi ar gronfa ddata
Access, a chaiff y data ei anfon i'r Swyddfa Gadwraeth Genedlaethol er mwyn
iddi fynd ati i baratoi adroddiadau

Technical Good Practice in ICT
March 29, 2006
The National ICT strategy for Scotland's museums recognises the fact that
museums need to have access to clear and practical introductory guidance on
technical standards. To help achieve this, we have produced some written
guidance which is designed to provide museums with good practice
recommendations on technical aspects of ICT.
The guidance can now be downloaded from the SMC web site at:

Museums Without Roofs 28 March 2006
Stories such as the plant hunting adventures of Captain Cook and Joseph
Banks expressed through plants familiar to many can set a trail to an
exhibition or collection elsewhere. There are a lot of keen gardeners, often
non users of museums, willing to start such a journey. In the West Midlands
alone there are over 500 horticultural societies, 50 National Plant
Collections in addition to the visitors to the region's parks and gardens.
