Subject: Register by April 6 for the ACRL/CNI/EDUCAUSE Joint Virtual
Thursday, April 6, 2006, is the advance registration deadline for ACRL's
first completely online conference, "Innovate and Motivate: Next
Generation Libraries," which will be offered jointly by ACRL, the
Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), and EDUCAUSE. The Joint
Virtual Conference will be held completely online and will offer a forum
for an energizing exchange of ideas focusing on technology and academic
librarianship.
Like its face-to-face counterpart, the Joint Virtual Conference will run
on a real-time schedule. The conference will feature synchronous
activities, such as live webcasts, that begin and end at a certain time.
Other synchronous and asynchronous activities will be offered as part of
the conference, allowing for convenient scheduling and flexibility. The
conference will take place in a LearningTimes Online Conference
Community, which provides an environment in which groups of
participants, both small and large, can gather electronically to learn,
collaborate, and network.
The Joint Virtual Conference will feature:
*Live, interactive webcasts of keynote speakers, featured presentations,
and concurrent sessions *Synchronous online roundtable discussions
*Text-based discussion boards *Asynchronous online poster sessions
*Speaker materials including PowerPoint presentations, bibliographies,
and biographies *Unlimited access to the online conference community of
ALL conference programs for one-year after the event

Keynote and featured speakers include Clifford Lynch, CNI; Charles
(Chuck) Henry, Rice University; Daniel Greenstein, California Digital
