I have had to deal with image collections as well, and had the nerve racking
experience of getting volunteers to do the cataloguing.
There are a variety of formats you could use. At the most basic, an MS Access
database with the relevant fields entered will make a searchable listing. The
choice of data to enter and the terminology is a little more tricky.
