I am looking for updated critiques about the ICF and its application in schooling. At the moment most of the work is theoretical and mostly comparing the ICIDH2 draft (Beta 1 and 2) with the previous model ICIDH (1980).
My argument is that the ICF, despite its attempts to move beyond a medical model, is still embedded in a medical rationale and that many modifications should be made before we can apply it (and why should we apply it?) in the educational setting (as in Italy is currently being suggested) since the unit of analysis remains the individual and his and her 'dysfunctioning' and the problem is located only within the person (and the immediate context around him or her).
I have found these following references very interesting, but I would appreciate any suggestion and further references (possibly available on line). Moreover, I am wondering if any research has been conducted in this field with empirical evidence of its application in schools
I have already checked the Disability&Research archive, which is of great help.
