Dear TG Complexity members,
Here is a quick briefing on some very happy personal news and some news of
wider interest to the TG Complexity.
My personal good news is that over the past couple of months I have handed
in the PhD and have become a lecturer at the Bartlett School, UCL. I am
extremely happy and I am looking forward to a very productive year
especially in view of the forthcoming RAE.
This brings me to the second point which is that the requirements of my new
post demand my full attention and therefore it will be extremely difficult
for me to substantially contribute to the demanding organisational aspects
of the TG at this moment. I have remained involved following Gert’s request
while he was away taking care of family matters. Now that he is back I
believe I can gracefully withdraw from my bit.
In communication with Gert the development of the website will now take
place as part of AESOP’s main webpage, many thanks to Elisabete! Your
presentations related to the Reading meeting have been forwarded (2 have
been to big for email so will go by CD or via upload/FTP) and should appear
once the webpage is up.
I would like to sincerely thank Gert for the opportunity I was given to
contribute to the organisation of the 1st and 2nd TG Workshops and to
proceed with the development of the website. I would also like to thank the
next TG Workshop hosts, Chris and Angelique, for taking this initiative
dynamically forward and for setting up the JISK list, our best means of
communication so far.
I am looking forward to actively contributing to the TG’s future
intellectual life with my papers and ideas. I am very happy that I have had
the opportunity to contribute in setting up such a successful, open and
intellectually challenging initiative that will surely have a bright
future. It is a great experience to participate in.
See you soon in Cardiff!
Best wishes and many thanks to all,
Nikos
