Hi Dan,
Have you thought about approaching the Skeptical Inquirer with something
on this? A while back they published an article by Jason Colavito on
Lovecraft's influence on alternative archaeology/the ancient astronaut
hypothesis (Prometheus Books also went on to publish his 'The Cult of
Alien Gods: H.P. Lovecraft and Extraterrestrial Pop Culture') so they
might be receptive to this idea. Having said that, writing something for
the Skeptical Inquirer is a bit like preaching to the converted...
Of course, I'm sure that the JSM would be interested in something of this
sort!
