italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Let me add another offensive title to this collection, which
appeared on *The Wall Street Journal* (no surprise, there): "Don
Coglione.* The article appeared last week and it's accessible on the
web only to paying subscribers. Since I'd rather die and be buried
than give money to those folks, I am unable to make this piece
available on this forum. I wasn't even able to read it myself.
Amen,
Gloria Monti

Too true, Alba. Canada offers universal health care and/but
slaughters baby seals.

If the reason for using the term "pizza" was just facile,
national-stereotyping alliteration, then it's certainly poor
journalism. Offensive? I'm not sure. Is there not a risk of excessive
political correctness here?
No, not again, not anymore, please. Brandishing this term like a
whiny right wing weapon is so yesterday!
Either way, the more interesting question is whether the parliament
will last quattro stagioni. Not to mention what the Margherita might
do.
Is this supposed to be funny?
