-- Sound Designer Needed For Cutting Edge Theatre Production (London)
SplitEgo are currently seeking a talented Sound Designer to work
with us on our fringe production of Plasticine, by distinguished Russian
playwright and Anti-Booker prize winner of 2000, Vassily Sigarev.
Translated by Sasha Dugdale.
Plasticine is a comtemporary Russian play that first made its debut in the
UK at the Royal Court in 2002.
SplitEgo's production will be a collaboration between an up and coming
director and a fine artist. The end result will be an hour long production
of five performances, spread across three London venues in June and July
2006.
Sound is an integral part of our production, as there will be virtually no
set, and minimal props will be used throughout the performances.
You should be:
- a confident, visionary sound designer who has experience of working on
theatre shows (this can include student productions)
- enthusiastic, passionate and excited about the subject-matter in the play
- be willing to operate the sound equipment during the performance dates
Rehearsals will take place in London. The first round of rehearsals
will be from 8th May - 5th June 2006.
Provisional Performance dates and Venues will be in
- Early June 2006 (Exact Date TBC)
Central School of Speech and Drama, London
- Week of 5th June 2006 (Date TBC)
ICA, London
Accident Theatre Festival
The second round of rehearsals will be from 3rd July & 21st July 2006
Performance Dates and venue will be
-22nd and 23rd July 2006
Stratford Circus, London
Big Up Your Arts! Festival
You do not need to attend rehearsals full-time, but you will obviously be
expected to attend necessary sessions (particularly in the beginning of the
process) and operate the sound on all performance dates.
Unfortunately the position is unpaid due to very limited budget, however,
this is a great opportunity for exposure at the most cutting-edge venues
in London.
If you are interested in joining our team, please send your CV and a short
cover email to: mailto:[log in to unmask] by Monday 1st May. We look
forward to hearing from you.
