I wonder if you can help. I have just created a RRS for out health and
safety department (with retention periods based on the HE model
developed on behalf of JISC) and there have been a few queries which I'm
hoping someone may be able to help me with.

All new staff fill out a medical declaration forms. The JISC RRS says
that Records documenting pre-employment health screening of an employee
should be retained for 40y after termination of the contract but our H&S
people are querying whether the forms for people who are passed and
offered a job need to be retained for this period.

Also we have lots of files for both staff and students where they go to
the Univeristy doctor for some reason but the doctor says that there's
nothing wrong and the case is closed. Our H&S department don't feel
that this is health surveillance and so don't need to keep these records
for the recommended 40 years.=20
