Hi Fiona
We keep our common land search requests for 5 years. Although I still think
this is too long, when I looked into this a couple of years ago I found that
there is no statutory timescale for keeping these records. It appears to be
common practice based loosely around the Limitation Act hence the 7 year
period quoted by many.
Hope this helps
Paula

Subject: Land Charges Records
Hi All,
Does anyone have any information on how long to retain 'Local Land Charges
and Common Land & Village Greens Search requests?' Common practice seems to
be 7 years, but I have been unable to find any statutory guidance on the
subject.
Thanks.
