Thanks Andrew & Alison. There's actually an Afterword all about our
collaboration in the book, but to be brief, we found we could write
back & forth following the language of each stanza, & finding that a
voice different from either of ours appeared in this way. So the poem
has been written completely on e-mail, an almost daily exercise.
I guess I'm not that moody; in fact, I asked Sheila (who has
collaborated with other writers too) if she'd be willing to work with
me, & was very grateful when she said sure. And it's been a lot of
fun, as well as an interesting learning experience....
