My favourite tree poem is probably Hopkins' Binsey Poplars - an
environmental poem if ever there was one - such pained lament:
But like this quick and seeing ball
But a prick will make no eye at all
(I may have got it wrong, apologies if so).
And thanks too for that Williams poem, John - great to read it again.
