This is just to remind you that the work on accessibility/
adaptability metadata continues with its usual intensity. There are
new documents etc available on the wiki for your consideration - see
http://dublincore.org/accessibilitywiki/
There was an ISO JTC1 SC 36 meeting in Turku Finand recently, at
which the Draft Committee Documents for the proposed standard moved
forward to become the Final Draft International Standard (FDIS).
These are now in the final stages of editing and will then move
forward for the final recommendation ballot.
There was also an ISO JTC1 SWG-Accessibility held recently in Los
Angeles. This group is surveying standards and specifications that
relate to accessibility in order to determine the gaps.
There has been progress by the CEN European Quality Mark group as well.
There has been little progress with the DC Accessibility work in that
the proposed term was not accepted for consideration by the Usage
Board at its up-coming meeting. There was a small survey to see who
wanted it to go forward and only members of the Usage Board said they
did not.
It is not clear what should be done next and members of the list are
invited to contribute their thoughts.
