Whilst I cannot comment on the design spec of the membrane a possible
retrospective measure (if required) to improve the performance of the
system may be to consider a positive pressure clean air blanket.

Subject: Vapour membrane
Dear all,
I have a residential without gardens development on land that was
infilled
with about 1m depth of gasworks waste. As there are no gardens or
landscape areas the only pathway of concern is inhalation of PAH
vapours.
The problem is that the development is already constructed and
mitigation
measures used within the development include a membrane and ventilated
void.
The membrane only has test data for being protective against methane,
carbon dioxide and radon not PAHs and the membrane manufacturer cannot
provide assurance that the membrane will be protective although they are
aware it has been used in similar situations.
Can anybody offer me any advice about the likely suitability of this
membrane,
Thanks
Glynnis
